I like Lena as a main character. She is quiet and shy on the outside, but on the inside she is scared and bold. She is scared about what the future has to hold, the Evaluation, her match, whether she gets into college, the operation. There is a lot to be scared about in her society, so I can understand why she is scared. She is unique, different, and unlike the other people in Portland. Lena is different from everyone else. Her mom committed suicide before she was going into her fourth operation to remove the disease. Lena is strong because she doesn't let people see that these things get to her, and I really like her for this. She may be shy, quiet, and scared, but I have a feeling she will change to an outspoken person. I like Lena a lot as a character, and I'm looking forward to seeing how and if she will change.

Main Character Impressions (Ryley W.)
Lena, the main character in Delirium, is a self conscious person. She doesn't have very much confidence in herself, she doesn't trust herself, and she doesn't know what to do about the situations in her life. When she met Alex and they were going to meet up somewhere, she didn't know whether she should do it or not. She didn't see any harm in it, but she struggled to get herself to go. Also, she doesn't think she is very pretty, and is very nervous for the Evaluations and her match. Lena doesn't like to wear makeup, she doesn't like to stand out, she just doesn't want to be noticed. She doesn't talk very much, and keeps a lot of her thoughts to herself. I think once she gets confidence and learns how to trust and believe in herself, she will benefit a lot from it. She needs to put herself out there and stop holding back. She is a great person, and if she stops being so conscious about herself, other people realize that she is great too.

I couldn't agree with you more! I wish Lena would just be herself and stop holding back. She could be such a great and bold person if she would just let loose! Great post!
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of you about how she would a better person if she would just learn to trust herself and loosen up. She is a very unique person with a quiet personality. I also hope to see if and how she will change. Great post with good points!
