Lena

Only read this if you have read to the end of chapter two and there are some details from chapters three and four. Lena is the main character of "Delirium". The impression that she has left me so far is that she's OK. What I don't like about her is that she follows the government, and I don't really like the government at all. It stinks. Also, she isn't independent because of this too. I wish Lena was independent because then she could rebel and the book would be very interesting if she was (I do think she will become more independent later and rebel though).

However, I do think that she is only like this because she has never known anything else except for what the government has told her. That makes me think that she could become a better character later that is awesome. In the book her aunt, who she lives with, is even quoting "The Book of Shhh", which is a book that the government wants you to follow. In that book there are things to keep them safe, laws, things about the "deliria", and even things like prayers. This book is letting the government influence about everything in their lives and this is not good because like I said they have a bad government. They think love is a disease (the deliria). This also makes me mad because this is just another thing that government has convinced Lena is right, when it isn't right.
