Towards the very beginning of the book, I was definitely considering Lena more towards the weaker side of the spectrum. Now that I've read more into the book and gotten closer to the end of the book, I would without a doubt put Lena on the strong end. Why? Well, first off, do you realize how brave she is? I mean she snuck out after curfew practically every night and broke TONS of rules. Can you even imagine the punishments that would be endured if people knew what she did. From where I'm at, the regualtors don't even know the half of it. She also continues to do all of these things even though she realizes that it could be punishable by death. DEATH. I definitely think Lena is an extremely strong character.
Everyone in my group agrees with me, but some of the people in different hours had Lena all the way on the weaker end of the continuum. I couldn't even begin to understand their reasoning unless they weren't very far into the book. I think Lena has moved up the scale quite a bit since the beginning of the book and I think she will continue to move throughout the last chapters of the book.
I agree what Lena started off shy, and is now strong. I like how she started off shy because I feel like I have gotten to see her grow. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you when you said that Lena moved up the scale and that she has become a different person. She does sneak out a lot just to meet Alex even though she knows what could happen to her if the regulators found out. I think this shows how much she has changed throughout the book. Great Post!
