Lauren Oliver is a New York Times bestselling author of delirium, pandemonium, and requiem. In the past she has written Panic, Rooms, Before I Fall, and Vanishing Girls.
I think that she wrote this book because she might have wanted to show us that this can happen to us. Now that there are more than just boy and girl liking each other in the future we might not want to feel love anymore and just get a procedure to not feel emotions. For ex. in the book if you even hug someone or cry over something the authorities will make you have the procedure. It would be really bed if you are caught liking someone and so she might be showing us that we need to just accept one another because later on down the road we all might just be emotionless brain-dead zombies.
Very good points and proof to your points. I like the way you relate the book's society to our society. Very good blog post!

ReplyDeleteI love that you used text evidence in your post. I agree with your ending, but I'm not sure about us all becoming emotionless brain-dead zombies in the future. But overall great post.
