Lena is the main character in Delirium. Lena seems like a very shy person so far through this book. She was ready to get the evaluation and her surgery to get the disease (Love) out of her system over with as soon as possible. This tells me that she was nervous and trying to make safe decisions. Lena dislikes oranges, because they remind her of her mother's funeral. She also likes the smell of the ocean, because it relaxes her.
Whenever she is around strangers, her mind goes blank as well.
Her best friend Hana is confident and outgoing, and in the book it states that Lena is the exact opposite of her. This gives us an idea of what Lena's personality is like. She doesn't like having the love disease still in her system. She can't wait until her birthday so she can get it out. I like Lena so far, I think she is a good main character. I can relate to her because she seems so awkward and nervous, and so am I sometimes. I also think she's a good main character because she seems like the type of character that will change her personality during the course of the book, and these types of characters are very interesting to me!
I feel like the events that took place when Lena was little are affecting the way she is living her life. She's too much of a rule follower, and she can let loose a little bit. I agree with you about her being a good character, and I'm optimistic to see how she might change.
