I think that Lena is very unsure of herself and she has trouble making difficult decisions. I also think that she is a very shy and timid person. While doing the Evaluation she didn't sound like or act like she was very comfortable even though she had rehearsed her speech many times. She doesn't seem like a very outgoing person either. She was always hiding behind someone or something. She seems unsure about how to feel about getting the cure. I think that part of the reason is because of the invalids, and the other part is just that she is not the type of outspoken person. I do think that this book will turn out to be similar some of the other books where the main character and a person living a totally different way will fall in love and then end up running away from something that seems normal. Like the cure in this book.
There are some parts of Lena that I like and other parts that I don't like. I don't really like that fact that she is a complete follower of the government and agrees with the ways they use completely like the cure, matching, and the evaluations. I think that the story would be a lot better if she was a more outgoing person. If she is constantly going to be like this in the whole entire book then there will be no action just a teenager going through the life the way the government wants is to be. I do like that she is a quiet person and that she is a bit disobedient at times. I hope that in the future she will be a more rebellious. Overall I think that Lena is a good person.
I agree with this as well. I think it would be a very boring story if her personality never changed. So.. hopefully she will become more outgoing and the story will be much more interesting!!

ReplyDeleteI like your opinion that Lena shouldn't always be a follower of the government. I wonder if the government didn't know any better either. Is there anything that you do like about the government, something that they do that makes the community better?
