Chapters 1-2:
I hate the main character. The main character is a know it all and completely agrees with the annoying government. She is a complete follower and I don't like that.
The government is match.com plus some rich scientists and a ton of stuff the people won't have, because they are jerks. The people living in the US have reduced power usage and cannot do anything about it.
The basis of the book right now is that everyone must do everything the governments says and go through different trials to get 'matched' meaning that person will be with that person until they eventually marry. Yet, even though the government approves of marrage they are certain that love is a disease. The government made a 'cure' for love and they think that everyone should be 'cured', the cure only works for people over or at the age of 18. Due to this everyone can't be 'cured' yet the government is very certain they will find a way. The main character completely agrees with the government and thinks that the government is right about everything because she doesn't know any better. She is excited for getting 'cured' and she can't wait until she turns 18, she wants to be cured as soon as she turns 18 and that annoys me. I feel that the book needs more 'pop' and rebelion. Otherwise it is a pretty good book.
I disagree with you. I think that the main character is not a know-it-all all she is, is excited. Also, all the government is doing is for what they think is right and they reduced oil usage because that is a precious thing that people used too much back then and they want to preserve that.
